ATELIER, Baugeschichte.

Since October 2012 the ground floor of Klimt Villa presents itself as "museum in progress",

in parts as a reconstruction of Klimt's interior with replicas especially made for this exhibition:

The Klimt Society loans the following items:

  • Furniture : Table and two chairs designed by Josef Hoffmann
  • Carpet "Glockenblume", designed by Josef Hoffmann, made by Fa. Backhausen
  • Japanese wood cuts and two large Chinese paintings
  • "The Bride"
  • Black easels and black box-seat
  • Painter's smock made of blue linen

And eleven themes of a German and English text-image-documentation, about Klimt's life, work, environment and garden.

How to deal with a wish bequeathed by Schiele ?

Egon Schiele's description of Klimt's studio and his explicit wish are the Society's guideline and mission statement.
